ReAct Theatre Co. / Members’ space
Terms & conditions
These terms apply when you create a membership account, book a class, workshop or one-to-one session, or pay for a place through the ReAct members’ space. They build on our published Booking Terms & Conditions and should be read alongside our Privacy policy, Community guidelines and Safeguarding policy. By booking or using your account you agree to them.

Who these terms are with
The members’ space is operated by React Theatre Co Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17015905, We also trade as ReAct Theatre Co. and ReAct STUDIOS.
You can contact us at hello@reacttheatreco.com. Our ICO registration number is ZC101785. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “ReAct” mean React Theatre Co Ltd, and “you” means the member holding the account or the parent or guardian booking on behalf of a participant under 18.
Your membership account
- You must give accurate details when you register, and keep your profile up to date.
- Your account is personal to you. Keep your password private and do not let anyone else sign in as you. Tell us straight away if you think your account has been used by someone else.
- New accounts are reviewed by the ReAct team. Class chats, the member directory and some resources only open once your profile is approved.
- Membership does not by itself guarantee a place in any class; places are booked separately and are subject to availability and capacity.
- You must be 18 or over to hold your own account. Where a participant is under 18, a parent or guardian must hold the account and make bookings on their behalf.
Booking and payment
- Confirmation. A place is only confirmed once full payment has been received, or once a member of the ReAct team confirms the place for a free or invoiced session. An unpaid or pending booking does not reserve a place.
- Prices. Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) on the class and are the total payable unless stated otherwise. We may change prices for future classes, but not for a place you have already paid for.
- Payment methods. Card payments in the members’ space are taken through our payment provider, Square. We never see or store your full card details. Some classes may instead link to an external booking or payment page, or to our booking platform at reacttheatreco.setmore.com; where a class is booked externally, your place is confirmed once we have matched your payment to your account, which may take up to one working day.
- Receipts. Square issues the payment receipt to the email address you enter at checkout. The confirmation shown in the app is a record of your place, not a VAT invoice.
- Your details at checkout. The name, email address and phone number you give at checkout are used to administer your booking and to contact you about the class. Please make sure they are correct.
- Failed payments. If a payment is declined, reversed or charged back, we may cancel the associated place.
Recurring classes and series
Some classes run as a series — weekly, fortnightly or monthly — across a set number of dates shown on the class. You can book a single date or the whole series where that option is offered.
- Booking a series reserves your place on every listed date in that series.
- Cancelling a series in the app removes your place on all remaining dates in it, not just the next one.
- If a single date in a series has to be moved or cancelled by us, we will tell you as soon as we can and offer a replacement date or a credit for that session.
- Missing a session in a series does not reduce the fee for the series or create a right to a make-up session, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Waiting lists and “coming soon” classes
Each class has a limited capacity, which is enforced automatically. If a class is full you may join the waiting list by emailing hello@reacttheatreco.com. Places released by a cancellation are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are not held open indefinitely.
Classes marked Coming soon are previews. They are shown so you can plan ahead, but booking is closed and the date may still change. No place is reserved, and no contract is formed, until booking opens and you complete a booking.
Cancellations and refunds
If you cancel
- Workshops and classes: cancellations made more than 7 days before the start date receive a full refund, less a small administrative fee.
- One-to-one sessions: cancellations made more than 1 day before the session receive a full refund, less a small administrative fee.
- Cancellations made inside those windows, and non-attendance, are non-refundable.
- You can release your place in the app up to the start of the class. Releasing a place is not by itself a request for a refund — email hello@reacttheatreco.com if a refund is due under the timings above.
- Places are not transferable to another person without our agreement.
If we cancel
If ReAct has to cancel a class, workshop or one-to-one session because of unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered a full refund of that session or a credit towards a future session, whichever you prefer. Where a guest practitioner is unable to attend, we may substitute an equivalent practitioner rather than cancel.
Your cancellation rights in law
Because our classes and workshops are leisure and training services provided on specific dates, the statutory 14-day cancellation right for distance contracts does not apply to them under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The refund windows above apply instead, and nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if a service is not carried out with reasonable care and skill.
Guest agents, casting and industry sessions
Some workshops are led by or feature guest agents, casting professionals, directors or other industry practitioners. These sessions are provided strictly for education, training and professional development.
- They are not auditions, casting calls, interviews for representation, or offers of work.
- Attending does not create any obligation on a guest, their agency or their organisation to offer representation, an audition, a meeting, feedback or employment, and no such outcome is promised or implied.
- Guests attend in a teaching capacity and may not be able to take on new clients or discuss individual representation.
- Fees are payable for the tuition and the session itself, regardless of any outcome afterwards.
- We advertise guest names in good faith; if a named guest cannot attend, section “If we cancel” above applies.
Health, safety and conduct
- Medical information: you must tell us about any medical condition, allergy, injury, or additional or special educational need we need to know about, before the session. For participants under 18, a parent or guardian must disclose this. Please send this to us directly rather than posting it in a class chat.
- Physical activity: sessions may involve movement, dance and physical theatre. By booking, you confirm the participant is fit to take part, and you agree to stop and tell a tutor if anything causes discomfort or pain.
- Behaviour: we may ask a participant to leave, without refund, if their behaviour is persistently disruptive or unsafe. Our Behaviour Policy and Anti-Bullying Policy are available on request.
- Punctuality and access: please arrive in time for the published start. We cannot always admit late arrivals to a session already in progress where doing so would disrupt the work or compromise safety.
- Recording: do not film, photograph or record a session, or another participant, without the tutor’s permission and the consent of everyone involved.
Scripts, resources and copyright
Scripts, sides, monologues, exercises, notes, recordings and other materials shared in the members’ space are provided for your private study, rehearsal and training only. Unless we tell you otherwise in writing, you must not:
- copy, forward, upload or share them with anyone outside the members’ space;
- perform them in public, stream them, or use them commercially;
- publish them online, including on social media or in a showreel offered for sale.
Copyright in third-party plays, scripts and published material stays with the rights holder, and performance or reproduction may need a separate licence that we do not provide. Material you upload remains yours; by uploading it you give us permission to store and display it within the members’ space so that we can run the service. Do not upload material you do not have the right to share.
Liability and insurance
ReAct Theatre Co. holds Public Liability Insurance. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or for business losses.
We cannot accept responsibility for personal belongings that are lost, damaged or stolen at a venue; please leave valuables at home. Where a class runs at a third-party venue, that venue’s own rules and safety instructions also apply.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.
The members’ space is provided on a reasonable-endeavours basis. We may occasionally need to take it offline for maintenance, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
Suspension and ending membership
We may suspend or close an account, and cancel associated bookings, where a member seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms or our Community guidelines, where there is a safeguarding concern, or where an account is used fraudulently. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will explain why and give you an opportunity to respond. Refunds in these circumstances are at our discretion; where the breach is serious, no refund is due.
You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@reacttheatreco.com. Closing your account does not automatically refund bookings already made.
Data protection
We handle personal information in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, as set out in our Privacy policy and our organisation-wide Data Protection Policy. Financial records are kept for 6 years for HMRC, and safeguarding records are kept in line with our Safeguarding policy.
Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms as the members’ space develops. The version on this page, with its update date, is the one that applies. Changes do not affect a booking you have already paid for. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
If something has gone wrong, please tell us first at hello@reacttheatreco.com — most things are quickest to sort out directly.
